Art Show Prep Work
This is how I operate: spreading all of my art on the floor in order to wrap my head around what I'm working with. I did this back in school by laying all of my books and homework on my bedroom floor; I'm a very visual person so it helps tremendously if I can SEE everything at once. So, before I arrive on location to hang my art, I visualize what that might look like by spreading all of my work out on my living room floor. My husband tried, bless his heart, to arrange for studio space for me, but it didn't work out. I find that I get more done at home and I've discovered that my stovetop doubles as an art table remarkably well.
