I'm really enjoying doing pet portraits for clients these days; because I love animals so much, this is a great way to extend that passion to others through my art. I request a picture(s) to draw from and the better the picture the better the painting. I paint exactly what is pictured; the eyes are a very important feature because it reflects so much of the animal's personlity. In fact, I'll often paint the eyes first because I feel an immediate connection with the process from that moment on. I've already fallen in love with these animals by the time I'm done and most of them I've never even met! It brings me tremendous satisfaction to spread that joy to others and give people something that they can hold onto forever.
